What you get

Six entries, written out in full.

The homepage keeps it brief; this page shows the workings. Everything Zest does for a venue, from the welcome your guests see to the records your compliance rests on — entry by entry.

No. 01 · Brand & designer

Make it unmistakably yours.

The designer lives in your dashboard: logo, colours, background photo, welcome message and the sign-in form itself. A live preview sits alongside as you work, so what guests will see is never a guess.

Changes happen in a draft, and nothing reaches guests until you press publish. Publish something you regret? Every version you've published is kept in the history, so last month's look is never lost.

  • Private preview links — a second opinion before anything goes live
  • Colour pairings too hard to read are corrected automatically
  • Photos resized and optimised on upload — no design tools needed

No. 02 · Guest experience

Built for the phone's sign-in pop-up.

Join the Wi-Fi and the phone opens its own small sign-in window — the one you've seen in hotels and on trains. That window is unforgiving: heavy pages stall in it. So the Zest portal is a single featherweight page that appears instantly and works even with JavaScript switched off.

Regulars aren't asked twice. Returning guests can be recognised and waved straight through — your call, per site. And once a guest is online, you choose where they land: your booking page, the day's offer, or a simple welcome page.

  • No app, no address to type — the pop-up is the portal
  • Waving regulars through is per site — switch it on or off any time
  • If Zest is ever unreachable, guests still get online — connectivity comes first

No. 03 · Data & GDPR

Paperwork that keeps itself.

Every sign-in becomes a consent record you can stand behind: the exact wording the guest agreed to, which version of it, and precisely when — timestamped and tamper-evident. Change your terms and the wording is versioned, so the record always shows what each guest actually read. The marketing opt-in is its own deliberate tick, never bundled into getting online.

The form itself is yours to shape: name and email, plus up to a dozen custom fields, drop-downs included — so a hotel can ask about the stay while a pub keeps it to two lines.

And the duties that usually linger on a to-do list run themselves:

  • Retention set per venue — older records delete themselves on schedule, every deletion logged
  • Right to be forgotten in two clicks — connected marketing tools included, erased guests can't creep back
  • One-click subject-access export when a guest asks what you hold
  • Your whole list as a CSV download, any time

Illustrative records for a fictional venue — yours will look this tidy too.

Under UK GDPR your venue is the data controller and Netmo is the data processor, handling guest data only on your instructions. Zest is built to help you stay compliant — a well-kept record, not legal advice. The detail is in our privacy notice, and the rules themselves are walked through in our plain-English guide to guest Wi-Fi and UK GDPR.

No. 04 · Marketing

Only the guests who ticked the box.

Consented sign-ups flow to your marketing tools by webhook today; a direct Mailchimp connection is due in the coming weeks.

The consent gate is the part we're most particular about. Only guests who ticked the marketing box are ever handed over — not as a policy someone has to remember, but as mechanics. There is no setting, export or workaround that sends anyone else.

No marketing software? Your whole list downloads as a CSV any time — email your regulars from wherever you already write emails.

What do venues send? Quiz night, the Sunday roast, a birthday treat, the quiet-Tuesday offer — the ideas are on the homepage; the list is what makes them possible.

  • No tick, no sync — enforced by the machinery, not a checklist
  • Failed syncs retry automatically until they land
  • Erased guests are removed from your connected tools too — and blocked from creeping back
The consent gate is mechanical, not a policy — there is no setting that sends an un-ticked guest.

No. 05 · Team & multi-site

One account, every venue, the right keys.

Add a venue and it arrives with its own portal, its own sign-in form and its own policies — the retention window that suits the hotel doesn't have to suit the café. Pricing stays arithmetic: £20 × the number of sites.

Access follows the job. Roles with per-site permissions mean a manager runs their own venue without seeing the rest of the group — and everyone works from one login, not a password per pub.

  • Two-factor authentication wherever guest data is touched
  • Per-site numbers — portal views, sign-ins, online — so the venue whose welcome needs work stands out
  • Policies are per venue too — each site keeps its own sign-in form and retention window

No. 06 · Managed & transparent

Run for you, in plain sight.

Zest is built and run by Netmo, a UK managed service provider. The platform is monitored with automated alerting — problems announce themselves rather than waiting to be reported. And when you need a hand, you're talking to the people who built it, not a call centre.

When our support team ever needs to look inside your account, the access is designed to be checkable: time-limited, every action recorded, destructive actions blocked outright, and the complete history visible to you. Not a promise of good behaviour — machinery that doesn't need one.

Underneath, the hosting is kept just as carefully:

  • UK-hosted, on Microsoft Azure
  • Each customer's data kept separate from every other customer's
  • The system's own passwords and keys kept under separate lock and key
  • Uploaded images re-processed before they're ever served

That's everything — and all of it is included.

Sign up, connect your UniFi network, and most venues are live within two working days.
